In case Mike's omission caused some people to overlook his last post:twisted:

Half-way through the interview. So Mike's a guy. Who knew?

I still think "Mike" is a "Michelle". She just got some guy to quote answers from a script she prepared.

Great interview though. Gene's verbal explanation of front loading here is the best I've heard.

I was unable to listen to it at the URL provided.

With some detective work, I found the file here instead.

Mike sounds older than I imagined. (I was picturing a guy in his late 20's, but the voice sounds more mature.) Good interview.

    Hi Bilbo,

Half-way through the interview. So Mike's a guy. Who knew?

Are you saying I sounded like a girl in the first half?!

    Hi Stuart,

I still think "Mike" is a "Michelle". She just got some guy to quote answers from a script she prepared.

That obvious, eh? The place is called Rent-A-Voice.

    Hi Atom,

Mike sounds older than I imagined. (I was picturing a guy in his late 20's, but the voice sounds more mature.) Good interview.

Okay, so by combining all three observations, you guys just figured out that I got Gramma Gene to do the interview for me!

I noticed nobody commented that his picture in the shownotes is of a rabbit.

MikeGene sounds taller in real life.
Also, the camera puts on about ten pounds, so there's that as well.

    That's because we already KNOW Mike's a rabbit… §;o)

When is the book gonna be ready? If it's just a matter of "technical difficulties" with the printing, why not charge the same for a DRM online copy and make it available now?

BTW, I worked for a book publisher for five years, late 70s to the early 80s. While I was with them they sold millions of dollars worth of books (and a book I authored sold 25,000 copies, which for a computer book in 1981, wasn't too shabby for a kid my age.) Even with the stone age tools we had back then, by comparison, "technical difficulties" would never have held up a book for months.

What's REALLY going on here, MikeGene?

My suspicion is that the this "publisher" is really somebody's garage, and there hasn't been enough funds available to really get it printed yet. Given that the web site has no address or phone number, it seems pretty obvious.

Not being judgmental or anything, just curious.

Am I right or am I right?

    kornbelt888,

Mike's book will be the first in history published by a warren of rabbits. Firsts take time.

If a warren of rabbits were to each type randomly on word processors, how long would it take them to write The Design Matrix?
