Congrats to johnnyb and bradford for the weblogs being added!

Also, I wish to salute Allen MacNeill for standing up for his students in this BioEE 467 seminar on design in nature: Allen Stands by His Students.

He has shown that ID can be discussed in an academic setting and has provided a model for how such a course could be offered at other universities. I hope the experience was not too trying for him….

There are now about 30 courses at the college level around the nation with some ID content (see ID in the academy ).

It will be interesting to monitor the progress of ID in the Post Wedge World in the universities. The first place I would look would be the private institutions to take up the challenge.

Ironically, some YEC institutions have been resistant to it, but some have not. In my opinion, ID will benefit greatly by having an infusion of scholars like Paul Nelson. I think that resistance can be overcome, but it will take a little doing.

For some other religious institutions, it will be a tough call. Baylor is an ugly example of an anti-openess policy.

I have no aversion to ID having entry into departments outside of science. I think that's where it can prosper, numbers wise.

I'm personally ambivalent about the public school issues. As a practical matter, how could ID be taught anyway? What public school teacher would be qualified?

    Salvador

Actually, I've been wanting to add Johnny's blog for a while, and I regret not getting around to it before he had to put it on the back-burner.

Thanks for the link! I'll try to find time to squeeze out more posts when I'm able — especially now that my captive audience has been enlarged.
