New Movie

by MikeGene

It probably won't be all that good, but I confess…I gotta see it!

This looks much better than AvP. I'll be seeing this one too. Mike, if you ever want to see a great pysch/horror film check out Session 9. It is incredible.

Yeah, it does look a lot better than the first. And thanks for the other movie suggestion; I'll be sure to check it out.

Yeah i'll go see this too. I'm sure thepreview makes it look better than it will be, (Just like the star wars prequels, ID4, AvP etc) but it is predators and aliens running around and fighting. What is not to like ?

    Hi sciphi,

Yep, that's exactly how I feel. The first two alien movies and the first predator are on my short list of favorite movies. And guts, that was hilarious.

    Hi Mike,

I thought the second predator film was much better than the first.

Although I have found that bad movies are made much better with Riff Trax. (http:/rifftrax.com). Yes thats a plug but I am in no way affiliated with them (beyond being an addict).

I have to admit that I have a particular weakness for sci-fi movies. In my opinion, there is no such thing as a bad one. I even watched Them! the other night on the movie classics channel, and enjoyed every single moment of it.

How about Darabont directing Stephen King's 'The Mist'.
Darabont does have a horror background - but he's better known for doing more 'touching' films like Shawshank Redemption, The Green Mile (both King's non-horror work) and the overly saccharine - overly Carpa 'The Majestic' (yuck).
I'm pretty excited to see 'The Mist' with Darabont at the helm. Despite the fact that piece of wood also known as Thomas Jane has a lead role.

Mike, when you see Session 9 let me know what you think of it. Even if you hated it. In my opinion, Session 9 is one of the best psych/thriller/horrors in a long time - better than Jacob's Ladder.

    Hi Doug,

I was going to rent it tonight, but my lame video store didn't have it. I'll keep an eye out for it.
