Not being a "parental eugenicist," I have managed to raise quite a few children. I just didn't contribute the genetics. I save the shotgun for bear hunters these days (for the most part). They for some reason manage to get permits without knowing how to read Posted signs. So I have to explain to them what "Posted" means. Since they're armed, it's only fair that I be armed too. §;o) It was the Johns Hopkins guys, for trying to convince me they'd be better parents than we could be.
