Sorry

by Bilbo

Sorry, Joy. I'm not very good at this managing stuff. I didn't see a "close thread" tag. So I just deleted the whole thing. I didn't mean to be disrespectful to you or anyone else. Just incompetency on my part.

If I didn't know you as someone with integrity, Bilbo, I might have suspected a Freudian deletion:cool:

Hey! No Freudian deletions for me! I'm keeping my jewels in tact for as long as they work. Just plain ol', "I'm too dumb to no how to operate this dang thing, so why do they let me push all these here buttons?"

LOL!!! Oh, I told you that deletion would be fine, Bilbo. And it is. I found the close comments (way down the page) and marked that, but when I 'saved' I got an 'internal error' message. When I click on edit for any comment, my browser just changes color and I get a frozen message box with no message and have to restart. Glad you've more access to the system than me.

Oh… and I was on a whole different computer, with a different OS version and using cellular broadband connection. So it's not my ancient 'pooter's problem. It's me being locked out.

I'm glad your not mad at me, Joy. All I can find is a place where we can allow or disallow comments on the page where we write our new threads. But once it has been posted, I don't see anyplace where we can change the setting from allowing comments to disallowing comments.

I presume you deleted (top right) from the 'edit post' page. Below the copy window are the options. Expand 'comments' and you can (supposedly) turn 'em off. Of course, I tried that and got a system error, so who knows?

OK, Joy, I did it once. I went to "manage." Then I clicked on this thread. Then I disallowed comments and clicked save. It worked. At least, I think that's what I did.
