Mike, I have a question for you. You work under a psuedonym, and as someone who uses one myself, I can sympathize: there are lots and lots of legitimate reasons to do so (myself I'm a nobody, but shielding mostly my employers from association with my views, which they do not necessarily share and have no reason to defend).

But recently, the From Darwin to Hilter film Expelled! seems to have given people the impression that you do so out of fear for your career: if "someone" knew that you were religious and/or interested in Intelligent Design (despite the fact that you are as criticized within ID for not supporting the idea that ID is good science), that bad consequences would result. For instance, Tom Bethel, in his review of the film, says that you are a biologist (as opposed to a hobbyist, which is what I've heard most often you describing yourself as) and that you conceal your identity "for obvious reasons."

I'm assuming he gets this impression from watching the film (though maybe you and he have spoken personally about it), and since I have not seen it yet (since I'm neither an activist Christian nor willing to sign a non-disclosure statement), I can't be sure if that's so.

I'm not asking or even implying that you should reveal anything about yourself, but were you involved in the film in any way? Is what Bethel says about you and your reasons for anonymity fully accurate, in your opinion?

    MikeGene,

I have a couple of questions about the modeation of two posts, but I don't want to raise them in an inappropriate location. Do you have a feedback mechanism of some sort other than Rabbit/Duck posts?

Mike. I watched a great movie last night. New release. It's called "Gone Baby Gone". Incredible. You see this and you're exempt from seeing "Session 9".
