The Design Matrix CONTEST

by MikeGene

Would you like to receive a free copy of The Design Matrix: A Consilience of Clues, sent out to you the very day it is released? Well, all you have to do is guess that glorious day. That is, simply guess the release date in the comments section and when AVP announces the release date, I will check to see who is closest. If there is a tie (on both sides of the actual date), both people will win a free copy.

Here are the rules.

1. One guess per person.
2. One date per person.

That's all there is to it.

Good luck!

Okay. First, though, I have some questions. When is the scheduled release date, if there is one? If there isn't, what's the most likely time-frame? Do we have to guess the year (that is, if we guess, say, "June 18", would any year on that date count)?

    Douglas,

It will be in 2007, so you don't need to put the year. As for trying to pry additional info from me, nice try.

My birthday's in January. (In case you want to write a poem, my name rhymes with mouse, not cause. And the E is hard, as in mousé.) But I don't think Mike would dangle the book in front of us if it was 10 months away. In other words, it's close, so I'm guessing April 14.

A friend of mine had a book published a couple of years ago. If I remember, it was about 6 months from his last emendations, to the actual release date. So if we knew when Mike made his last emendations, we could probably guess more accurately. I think I remember Mike talking about making changes in September or October. Let's say it was October. That would make it April, sometime. Okay, I'll say April 15th, in honor of our favorite National holiday.
