When I stated college, my major was "Behavioral Science" (a blend of psychology and sociology). I recall being presented this "John/Jane" or "Twins" case as proof of the assertion that sex is a social construct. And, of course, as with you, we weren't told the full story. We got Money's propaganda, but not the truth. It was all part of the campaign to turn "sex" into "gender."

Sometime the past year or two — probably on the occasion of his suicide — I'd encountered a bit more of the story. There is so much more, and it's so much worse than eluded to in the article David Alexander posted at ARN.

Recently, David Reimer's life had taken another turn. He lost his job and was separated from his wife. His mother said he was still grieving the death two years ago of his twin brother.

David Reimer committed suicide on May 4, 2004. He was 38.

As I recall, his twin hadn't merely died two years previously, but had committed suicide. I think Bruce/David comitted suicide on his brother's grave.

Now, this link makes mention (though, somewhat sanitizes it) of some of that "much worse" I mentioned:

… During his therapy sessions with Brenda Reimer, as well as other patients, he used words like f-ck, and c-ck, asked them about masturbation and sexual activity. Keep in mind that most of his patients were children and adolescents. Brenda Reimer herself was seven when she was asked to go on her hands and knees and have her twin brother get behind her and put his crotch up next to her rear end, in a mock act of copulation. Even more bizarre is that in articles and several of his books, Dr. Money insisted that Brenda was a successful girl, when in fact, she was distinctly masculine and incredibly miserable.

"Asked?" (and I think it was more than once).

"Even more bizarre???" No, those articles and books were just the lies to hide the true bizarre-ness.
