I've been reading some things that I find disturbing.
So far today, I have received 39 pieces of personal ... mail ... Four of them have included death threats
http://scienceblogs.com/pharyngula/

I do not know if Myers is telling the truth or not, but the point is that we do NOT attack the naturalistic monopoly on though (in public schools and other public forums) with death threats or violence. We do need to be proactive but we also need to be civilized.
Original: DaveScot
It’s just a matter of time before someone with a terminal disease, a month left to live, decides he hasn’t got anything to lose by taking out Myers along with him.
http://www.uncommondescent.com/intelligent-design/louisiana-whats-the-big-deal/

These kinds of ideas are NOT acceptable and while DaveScot may not wish harm on Myers, there could be crazy people out there that might get bad ideas from him and do something stupid. This kind of behavior from DaveScot is NOT acceptable and it is not how we should go about attacking the naturalistic monopoly on thought in public forums. Again, we need to be proactive, but we need to be civilized as well.

Though I seem to be banned from uncommondescent (for no apparent reason) I hope the moderators there read this.

Why close it sooner? Why not give Salvador a chance to respond to his accusers and his accusers a chance to participate without the need for displaying personal animus?

Engaging? As in personifying ad hominum and self-rightous indignation?

I say we have a thread guessing keiths new name when he re-registers under a different handle.

valerie, robin"¦.
both valerie and robin can either be a lady or a gent's name"¦ So I'm going with 'billie'.

You are certainly entitled to set limits on what's posted here. Which you could have done gently but firmly by closing the thread sooner than you did.

Why close it sooner? Why not give Salvador a chance to respond to his accusers and his accusers a chance to participate without the need for displaying personal animus?

Instead you terminated one of the more engaging participants at your site.

Engaging? As in personifying ad hominum and self-rightous indignation?

I'm personally amenable to seeing first rate critiques of ID creation science hosted and published.

In fact I offered to build a website for a very skilled and fair critic of YEC -- a physicist by the name of Gerrad Jellison....he declined to be the administrator of the webpages, but gave his blessing for me to promote his writings, which I intend to do. I'll be promoting his work at this website being developed by various individuals including myself:

http://www.idcsnetwork.com/

In my view, hecklers and flame warriors don't help clarify the invesitgation and settle the questions. They can occasionally provide batting practice for the art of debate and editorial review. But for the most part they merely jam meaningful communication. This is a useful tactic if one does not have good arguments...shut the debate down altogether by any means possible....even by spamming and jamming blogs and forums.

I was pleased to see the emergence of UD and TT. It did a lot to thwart the spam and jam tactics of the critics.

Regarding Robin, he said some things about me personally. I suppose he had more interest in proving to the world I'm a scoundrel than whether my ideas are correct. I'm just a ID mischief maker on the net. If my ideas are so poorly conceived and presented, he ought to have better things to do in life than try to be part of the thought police of cyberspace. And there probably worse scoundrels in the world than myself that he should be hunting....

In anycase, because of my in debtedness to the work of Mike Gene, I will endeavor to promote Mike's work at the IDCS Network. Mike is not a creationist, but I think it is important that creationists have a grasp of what evolutionary theory states. They can learn a lot about mainstream ideas and ID through Mike Gene's Design Matrix, as he compares and contrasts his bunny version of ID with the mainstream non-teleological views.....

By the way, Mike, I don't have an explanation to the visitors of IDCS Network about your bunny obsession. Does this have to do with Alice in Wonderland?
